I am Valentina Prileno, born and raised in Milan, a city of contrasts and beauty, where since I was young I began to dream of a world of art and creativity. I followed my heart and my interests by studying at the art high school with a major in architecture, becoming passionate about lines, volumes and the magic that lies behind every project. But life had a unique and much broader path in store for me: I spent twenty years exploring the world, embracing different cultures and landscapes that transformed and enriched me. Ten of these years I lived in Zanzibar, a place that won me over with its vibrant soul and the richness of its colors. Here, surrounded by African landscapes, I discovered a part of myself that I didn't yet fully know: the passion for sewing and creating clothes and costumes, with fabrics and materials that reflected the energy and vitality of the African continent. In this time, I have learned to feel colors not only as shapes and shades, but as voices, as expressions of life. Five years ago, my journey brought me back to Italy, to Naples, a city that welcomed me with the same intensity and authentic beauty, which is reflected in the streets, faces and stories of the people who live there. Only recently have I rediscovered my passion for painting, which I had put aside, but which found new inspiration in Naples. Here, the colors of the past intertwine with those of the present, and I have found within myself the strength to give new life to my art. Naples has given me new horizons and a depth that I had never explored. In every brushstroke, in the bright tones and shadows, I try to convey the soul of this city and of the people who populate it. This is my way of honoring a path that took me far away, to then make me find myself here, where today I continue to grow as an artist and as a woman.
